Back from hell... kind of...
July; summer time+work. August; "the second wave", another flood struck the D&R hq. September; system overloaded and collapse. October; canceled US-tour and total darkness. November; slowly coming back + sent a bunch of new releases to the pressing plant. December; started a painful and costly dental treatment + sent a second batch of releases for print.
There you go, my last six months in brief. Oh, my computer also crashed in April, and we lost tons of work (album covers, music masters, photos and so on...). 2018, what a shitty fucking year!
To sum it up, D&R have not been that effective in recent months, but have a lot going on for winter/spring 2019. The flood in August was worse than last time but I was prepared so the damage was not as severe. But still lots of stuff got ruined. The insurance covered most of everything so I didn't or don't wanna make to much fuzz about it. Will go through it all when I get there, then post a list on this blog of water damaged cheap stuff for those interested.
Yet another year coming up, I guess the struggle continues.

Vila i frid Steffe!
I received very sad news last night, that Steffe Pettersson passed away. An intelligent provoker with a large dose of self-distance and great sense of humor. Which most often could be heard in his lyrics. We had an intense mail contact between 2009-2013, and we met a few times when he was up in Jämtland with his family. During that time, I learned to know Steffe in a different way than the sporadic contact we had before, when we just met on gigs and in other punk contexts. I have so many fun memories and stories, but I lack words.
Over the years he has played in several bands, punk and metal, but what I associate the most with him is definitely DISKONTO. Classic Swedish Hardcore Mangel. Vila i frid Steffe. Ma råkes!

Tristess - Hardcore Demos, 12"
I remember the first time I got/heard TRISTESS first demo. It was in the beginning of 2000 and bands like Tragedy, Ekkaia and From Ashes Rise ruled the punk scene. Therefore, it was extra refreshing with a band that played classic Swedish Hardcore. No krångel! Only a few years later I moved to Umeå and saw how they, and many other bands from that era, evolved during their many live shows and recordings. I'm really glad that these two old demo tapes have been re-mastered by Kenko/Communichaos, got a new life and is now available so that more people can take part and enjoy a piece of Umeå Hardcore music history.
