Time-out = Label/shop closed!

I will be closing the label/shop throughout November to regain some strength and energy. Most records are still in boxes (in some disorganized chaotic order) after the flood, and I have real problems finding time to go through everything. Not to mention all the other work that comes with running a label. I mean its been almost three month now. All orders to this date will obviously be continued until completion. I feel like an asshole when people have to wait up to 2-4weeks to get a response to an email/order. I think this is the best for everyone, me included.

The support worldwide have been enormous and I'm speechless for all the help and all the efforts people have made so far. It's because of you that D-takt & Råpunk will survive! I have no idea how I'll be able to really show you all my appreciation. Tack som fan! I will give you an updated version of the situation as soon as possible.

Observe! This does NOT mean that I will close the label for good. I have two new releases at the pressing plant as we speak and more projects in the loop and while waiting for them I might as well try catching up on everything and get started with an inventory in the warehouse. Which should have been done over two month ago.

A new mailorder zine (#10) is in the making and it will be out early december just in time as we're re-opening the shop. Lots of goodies + sales will be included. Free with orders, not for sale! A friend of mine has also designed an exclusive t-shirt printing (see above) for the benefit of the label and hopefully we will start selling these in december too. We have many plans, just wait and see!

I forbid no one to email me, but just be aware that it may take a while to get a response. If I'm having a good day you may get an answer the same day. You never know. Smell ya later.

Northern Tyrant was actually one of the very first, alongside the massive financial support, who went from words to action when it comes to help D&R. Together with Tryckexpressen and Obsessed By Cruelty they did and printed this exclusive t-shirt/sweatshirt design.
A funny anecdote was that when N.T. first said they had a Death design in mind, I thought immediately of "...for the whole world to see" Death.  But Death as Death, it's the thought that counts. I got the "Scream Bloody Gore" LP album for Christmas around 92-93 from my uncle and my mom hated him for that. Haha. He is no longer with us today, but this one goes out to him! Top-notch print. Great thanks to everyone who bought a shirt and supported this project.

I just found out that there was a benefit show in Potsdam, Germany this last friday. Great thanks to Franzi, the bands that played, everyone that showed up and to the Black Fleck! If I only knew I would have posted this earlier. Haha.

Stödfest(ival) i Göteborg 18/10 (in swedish)

Som alla med ett öra någorlunda riktat mot punkens djungeltrumma har hört så har Jocke från D-Takt & Råpunk Records råkat ut för en översvämning i lokalen där han förvarade sina egna släpp, större delen distron och annat av vikt för bolaget. Då detta naturligtvis hade förödande konsekvenser för honom både på det personliga och ekonomiska planet har punks världen över, som sig bör, skänkt en hjälpande hand på alla sett och vis de har kunnat. Göteborgsscenen är naturligtvis inte sämre och därför har Filler, 128:A och ett gäng oberoende DIY-punks i staden tillsammans skapat en minifestival där allt överskott oavkortat kommer att skänkas till att se till att få Jocke och D-Takt & Råpunk Records på fötter igen. Flyern är gjord av Isse från HEAVY MAKEUP.
 
På scenen kommer följande akter att föra ett välkommet oväsen:
Gamla Pengar, Vicious Irene, Inkvisitionen, Contorture, Anatomi-71 och Aggrenation.

Det arbetas även med att trycka upp en t-shirt inför den här kvällen, som kommer att vara både limiterad och handnumrerad och där pengarna naturligtvis också går till Jocke. Ryktet säger också att vi kanske kommer ha det nya fanzinet SITUATION SKITSTÖRD till salu under den här tillställningen, och det vill ju ingen jävel gå miste om. Jisses! Lucha fyller 3 år i oktober och därmed är Sveriges mest distade barnkalas åter. Entré kostar i år 60kr var av 30kr kommer skänkas till D-takt & Råpunk Records som fick översvämning i sitt lager och hamnat ca 100 000 kr back.

Fakta kontra skitsnack och rena lögner på nätet (in swedish)

Jag älskar ärliga och uppriktiga människor, inget snack! Raka rör betyder mindre missförstånd. Jag ser upp till människor med starka åsikter och som står för va de tycker. Men när folk förvrider och skapar egna sanningar om hur det egentligen ligger till, plockar saker från luften, och sitter och snackar/spekulerar om saker dom inte har någon aning om så blir man faktiskt lite sne. Källkritik. Nä, va ska det vara bra för?

Det har kommit till min kännedom att folk börjat snacka på nätet om att de människor och föreningar som hjälpt mig med stödspelningar, tryck av saker, auktioner, haft procent på försäljningar etc istället roffar åt sig själva och utnyttjat situation för egen vinnings skull. Att folk som sätter upp en spelning tar större delen av inträdet själva och ger mig endast en bråkdel. Att dom som skickat mig donationer/gåvor endast gör det för att få "gratis reklam" iom att d&r översvämningen är ett hett ämne. Hör ni hur sjukt det låter? Livlig fantasi. Jo tack! Tänk om man kunde ta till vara på den här fantasin till nått kreativt istället.
Allt som jag lägger upp på denna blogg är från vettigt folk, vänner och bekanta, som jag litar på. Som helhjärtat gjort allt i sin makt för att kunna bidra med vad de kan. Stödspelningen i Berlin gav t.ex 1604,58kr. Procenten på Blindead tröjorna landade på 500kr. Protes Bengt 7" sålde för 1600kr...för att ta några konkreta exempel. Sedan är det fortfarande pågående och kommande grejer på gång. Så snälla lägg bara ner skitsnacket för ni vet ingenting.

D&R har ett lager och ett lager endast. Denna lokal var såklart försäkrat och alla grejer som rök med i översvämningen stod självklart i lokalen som var försäkrad och ingen annanstans! Nu pratar folk om att jag hade försäkrat en lokal och sedan hade mitt lager på ett annat ställe och att jag får skylla mig själv om jag är en sån jävla idiot. Duh?! Nog för att jag både sniffat och krökat bort majoriteten av mina hjärnceller i unga dagar men jag är väl för fan inte dum i hela huvudet.
Då jag varken har råd eller vill hyra nått mer än en sketen källarlokal så är maxtaket på försäkringen 50.000kr (jag kan/kunde inte teckna nån annan försäkring), just pga att det är och klassas som ett "förråd" (i enlighet med försäkringsbolagets tariffer). Och för att förtydliga så fick jag ut varenda krona av de 50.000kr utan några som helst problem. Mitt försäkringsbolag har vart väldigt förstående, hjälpsam och stöttande i denna process. Jag har en tillfällig lokal just nu, för att kunna rädda det som inte gick åt helvete vid eventuella kommande kraftiga regnoväder. Kanske det som folk blandat ihop?

Ställ er själva frågan; Va skulle jag välja om jag drev ett oberoende skivbolag med minimalt cashflow? Hyra en lokal i en källare för 300kr/mån. och betala en rimlig försäkring och lägga resten oavkortat på skivsläpp ELLER hyra nå flådigt kontorspentry för 3000kr/mån. och vara försäkrad till tänderna för några tusenlappar extra och kanske ha råd att ge ut en skiva var tredje månad med lite tur. Svaret är iaf mycket enkelt för min del.

När vi ändå är inne på pengar. Personer/band/arrangörer som känner mig vet att jag aldrig drivit bolag eller spelat i band för pengarnas skull. Känns som att jag kanske valt fel genre till att börja med om jag va ute efter cash. Eller?! Jag menar, de finns dom som gnäller över att jag tar 35kr för en 7" som kostar 32kr att tillverka. 3kr rakt ner i fickan. Yes, då kan man unna sig ett bugg till helgen.
Jag har lagt ut fler hundratusen, kanske tom närmare en miljon, i mina dagar på punkmusik/scenen. På mina egna + andras band, merch, musikutrustning, inspelningar och allt som hör där till. I slutet av dagen är det värt varenda jävla öre och jag kommer fortsätta lägga mina surt förvärvade slantar på att supporta bra folk och råa band så länge det bara är möjligt. Jag jobbar heltid och det är delar av min månadslön som betalar för de skivsläpp jag gör. Inget gnäll, endast ren fakta.
D&R är och har alltid varit ett jävligt gött fritidsintresse som jag driver i mån av tid/ekonomi. Jag ligger fortfarande back med ca -150.000kr, men försöker iaf blicka framåt. Orkar som inte älta i översvämningen. Skadan är skedd, inte så mycket mer jag kan göra åt den saken. Folk stöttar och hjälper till av egen fri vilja utan några egna vinstintressen. Alla bidrar på olika sätt och i den mån de kan och vill. Jag har varken krävt eller tvingat någon till något annat.

Jag förstod (men hoppas slippa sån här dyngspridning) att rykten, spekulationer och lögner skulle ploppa upp i sociala medier kring allt detta. Är mest bara förvånad över att det tog så här pass lång tid innan allt skitsnack drog igång. Nu vet ni iaf lite mer om hur det ligger till, sen om ni väljer att ta in informationen eller ignorera den är upp till er. Gå gärna direkt till kärnan för att få korrekt info istället för att bre på och spinna vidare på nonsens och tomt prat. Man slutar aldrig förvånas...

More D&R flood updates...

Yesterday was an intense yet important day when we got a lot of shit done. With the help of four friends (cheers!) who worked shifts we've managed to create a temporary D&R office/storage. There's still very much left to do, and it still feels chaotic, at times use- hopeless and most of all extremely time consuming. Time that I feel I don't really have. Everything is still a total mess and it will take weeks, more likely month, to really go through it all carefully. I still have not quite decided in which order I should start.
I do know that I want to try and start selling the D&R releases asap so that I can get some money through label/distro sales as well and not only via your donations. I know that you help me out of good will, but I cant help it, I still get very bad conscience. Dont get me wrong, under these circumstances it means the world to me. But at the same time, I think about it every day in what way I can do to thank as many people as possible at the same time. An idea I have that everyone would benefit from is running a big sale when I re-open again. More info about that will follow later...

I want and will keep the label alive for as long as I really can. I already have a few releases upcoming and lined-up and with your help, these are possible to be released as planned without any extra delays. It will be tough, but I'm convinced it's going to work. Right now everything feels overwhelming and tiring and quite honestly I don't know for how long I can carry on with this work in this tempo. The flood was last wednesday, so I've worked from early morning to late night for over a week. Two nights ago was the first time I got a full night's sleep, and it was absolutely wonderful. It did wonders. And now when most of all the records are securely stored I will not have to worry about that either. Most of all I just wanna catch a movie, enjoy a cup of black coffe in peace, listen to my recent pile of bought records and just relax. I have had one of the best summers in a long time, too bad it had to end in the worst possible way.
 
The good news is that much has survived completely intact, while other records and stuff, as you know, had to be thrown away. But LOTS of records/merch are also saved, but is anywhere from a little to very water/moisture damaged. I will post a list at this blog or sell these items at upcoming shows, haven't decided that yet either.
Other great news is that I got the new Martyrdöd LP (looks/sounds amazing!) and I'll start sell em asap! Hit me up with an mail if you wanna buy one and I'll deal with all your orders asap.

Nuclear Death Terror!!!

For almost a decade now Jocke & his label have been great supporters of both Nuclear Death Terror and Krömosom (not to mention RAW'ARSE on occasion), with the NDT - Demo 2005 7" being one of his earliest releases. Now he needs our help. As most of you will be aware, just last week he had some awful luck, and it looks like it could spell the end for D-Takt & Råpunk. We don't want that to happen, so we're donating merch to his distro as a benefit. Since we all live in Australia now, that means that postage is murder. So we need help with punk post! D&R flood updates

I figured it was time for a short update; After five days of hard and intense work my health starts to take a lot of beating and I feel very tired. All of your emails and your support is the only reason that I still have the energy to fight. It is total chaos and I have no idea where or how to begin again after something like this. I sleep and eat terribly bad, which results in that the body and my mind becoming weaker by every day. On saturday night, early sunday morning, it was heavy rain again and it was not far from another flood. But with careful preparation, we managed to get control of the water flow. I have to move my stuff, and it's urgent. I can not sleep at night because of the fear that it will start raining, and it is expected to get more rain this upcoming week. I'm not write all this to make you feel sorry for me, it's the last thing I want to! I just want to be straight up and honest with you.
I have good friends who volunteer and I am forever grateful to them. Together we have managed to save more than I first thought was possible. But it would've been impossible without their help.

Some have asked "Cant you just clean the vinyls and make new covers, or sell them with no covers at all?". Trust me, I've saved as much as possible. What has been thrown is not worth all the extra work needed. I might have been able to save another 30-40% but then I had to clean vinyl by vinyl by myself from all the dirt, gravel and leaves and with some luck, maybe get half price for em in the end. On top of that, except for all the extra work, I would not have been able to open the D&R shop again until maybe the end of this year. The choice was difficult and painful, but I think I did the right thing. There is just not the time for it. Who knows, maybe I would have given up earlier and felt more hopelessness and depressed?
Throwing punk vinyls and merch is probably the most bizarre feeling I've ever experienced in my entire life. And I really hope I never have to do it again.

At last, I will answer all your mails (I've received +400 in three days) by time, it's the least I can do after all you do and have done for me so far. Cheers!

Operation 'save what can be saved'

It’s still too early to say how it will be with all. I along with a bunch of friends have done our best to save what can be saved. Everything is moisture damaged, but more or less. One thing is for sure though, after all your support on only one day, this won’t fucking grind me down! I just want things to go back to normal asap.

I guess I have to swallow my pride for the survival of the label. I believe in what I do and I still want to continue supporting great friends and bands that play distorted hardcore d-beat mangel and who deserve to have their songs pressed on cassette or vinyl.

Damn, I'm not used to this kind of generosity. Not in my wildest dreams had I predicted this. I feel blessed and honored for having such ass-kicking friends and support world wide. I'm touched and truly grateful for all your help so far. I hope that I will somehow be able to give it all back to you some day. Don’t know what else to say but thanks.
Please, don’t feel bad if you cant contribute with money, there is more than enough with just an email of your concern. I feel it is important to point out that money is not everything in life and they are those who have it worse. But I'd be lying if I said it did not help me right now. I lost not only records and merch, but also some things of sentimental value. There is no dineros in the world for that. Your financial support is absolutely amazing and more than welcome. The first thing I will do with some of the cash that has already been received is to buy plastic boxes for all vinyls that have not been destroyed. New dark clouds cover the sky and you can hear thunder in the distance. As it seems there will be more heavy raining this upcoming weekend.

I'm sorry but I decided to delete the video on youtube. I feel humiliated enough as it already is just by receiving your gifts and money. Its been online for almost 24h now and as far as I understand, with +2000views, the message about the devastation has been spread in the best possible way already. Therefore I see no point with that video any more.

Gaki/Konton Crasher started some kind of a fund raiser on "Go Fund Me". It's 100% solid and legit. I have no idea how it works, but what I can tell so it does.

Now I have to rest and gather new strength. Tomorrow is another day. Up the punx, up the nature!

THE END OF D&R RECORDS?

Records and merch, tour/band gifts and parts of my private collection is totally drenched, ruined and must be discarded at a value of around: 41.200€ / $54.900 / 35.200£ / 5.650.000YEN
and my insurance covers only: 5100€ / $6800 / 4000£ / 700.000YEN
because our stock is located in a storage room. I dont know/think I will survive this personal and economic crisis. And as it seems, this might be the end of D-takt & Råpunk Records. When a damage such as this strikes against a d.i.y punk label its hard to get back in the ring again. I could really need all your help and support right now. Feel free to get in touch if you think that you can help us out in any way. More information will follow as soon as i know more about this total mess. I really hate to beg and ask for favours and I would not do it if I absolutely not needed.
I need some sleep now, been working day and night for two days straight in a row. I will try my best to keep the punk spirit up, but at the same time I must admit that it feels pretty fucking hopeless right now.

The label, distro and everything around it will be closed indefinitely until I got a better overview of the whole situation. Thanks for all your support!

UPDATE: I am speechless, not because of the flooding, but because of all the mails and enormous support I received in less than a few hours. It means more than you can imagine. Just your thoughts/mails helps more than you think. It aint over yet. Thank you all!

Summerholidays vs. Punkroutine

That's it, finally time for some well-deserved vacation. You can always try to send me an e-mail but be prepared that it may take a while to get an answer. I'll be relaxing under the radar, enjoying the summer without any internet access. Embracing the now, listen to the pile of 'not listen to' vinyls, eating ice-cream and drinking coffe without have to think about all the 'must be done'. First up; a road trip to Norway.
